Charles F. Hummel, PhD, CIC

Dr. Charles F. Hummel has been a college professor for over 25 years. Dr. Hummel is a New York State certified Emergency Medical Technician, an EMT Certified Instructor Coordinator and a first aid and CPR instructor for the American Heart Association. He is a member of the Glendale Volunteer Ambulance Corps and a member of the executive board of the New York State Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Association.

Robert C. Smath, EMT-P, CIC

Robert Smath has been an EMT for over 35 years and involved in EMS education for over 15 years. Mr. Smath has been involved in instructing over 50 EMT and Advanced EMT courses as well as having a position on American Heart Association Regional Faculty. |

Laura Tipping-Wilhelm, RN, CIC
|
Laura Tipping-Wilhelm has been a New York State Emergency Medical Technician since 1993 and has been a volunteer for a local community ambulance corps since 1991. She became involved in EMS education as a Certified Lab Instructor in 1998 and then advanced to Certified Instructor Coordinator in 2001. In addition to teaching EMT courses, she is also an Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support instructor. Ms. Tipping-Wilhelm has been a New York State Licensed Professional Registered Nurse since 2002 with career experience in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. She also holds RN licensure and EMT certification in Connecticut. Ms. Tipping-Wilhelm is currently pursuing her master’s education for Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and will earn her degree in May, 2010. |

Michael Wilhelm, RN, CIC

Michael H. Wilhelm has been an EMT for 8 years and has held various positions in his volunteer and paid career. He is currently a AEMT-CC and practices in Long Island. He has been involved in education for the last 5 years and has been involved in the development of courses with this institute. Mr. Wilhelm is also a Registered Nurse and has various certifications including CCRN (Crictical Care Registered Nurse) and CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse). Mr. Wilhelm is currently employed in a Medical Intensive Care Unit. Mr. Wilhelm has been very involved in the volunteer sector and has been an intricate part of legislative development throughout NYC and NYS through the NYSVARA. |
